Colours, electrics & contracts next week- but which benchtop???

ALMOST finished the pre-stages.....
Been speaking with my CSO (who is actually quite good at returning phone calls, surprisingly! ) and have contract signing app. booked for next Thurs, and the Colour & Electrical app. the day before that on Wednesday. YAY
Now just trying to decide on all the important stuff like what colour caesarstone for kitchen....we had upgraded to cheapest range but only has 6 colours to choose from and I'm trying to see if I like any of them enough so I dont have to pay yet more money for another upgrade!! At the moment I like Latte in the standard range,


but if its not too dear to upgrade to next category, I"m undecided between Bondi, Raw Silk or Cashmere
    


We like the white high gloss cupboards and drawers (I know they may chip but I am hoping to upgrade to the stronger polytec type if they're not too dear). As for splashback, can't afford glass I dont think, so thinking if we go the lighter benchtop, we'll go a dark chocolate colour tiles, if we go darker benchtop....no idea as to what tiles!! ahhhhhhh too many decisions!!

Our NEWEST house plans

For those I haven't vented to you, we had to change our house plans as the last choice (Millbank) didn't end up fitting within our easements by 1/2 metre!! NOT HAPPY JAN! Luckily, I like quite a few of Simonds plans, andI quickly found this one we are now going with, it fits well within the easements as its a different shape. We lose our study but the 4 bedrooms are all much bigger than on the last plans, so we're pretty happy with the new plans.

Here are our Atherton 2300 plans with the changes we made circled in red (I got bored with no internet last few days so played around in Paint :) ).

*Changed Kitchen to island bench and added more cupbaords on opposite wall.
*Turned pantry and Bed 2 robe into all pantry
*Study became Bed 4 with door
*moved Bed 2 robe and Bed 4 robe onto the shared wall.
*added double doors to opening between Lounge and Meals area.
*added single roller door on back of garage
*added extra linen cupboard into hallway for extra storage


I'm tempted to add yet another linen cupboard just outside Bed 4 in the Lounge room, since that wall wont really be used for anything else.....

Colour selection and Electrical Appointment is on Thursday, hopefully sign final contracts this week too, its all happening!!

It's MOVING DAY - tomorrow :)

Well it has come tim eto move from our little first home together...not to our built house, that hasn't started yet! Just to a unit up the road so we can sell this place nice and clean and empty. It is so full of our stuff at the moment it looks even smaller than it really is!

So the next few weeks will be devoted to re-painting, re-carpeting, taimming garden back (now the garden beds have all been re-mulched) and putting up new blinds (that's not a re- but oh well).

It will look lovely and ready to sell once it's done....but it's still sort of sad. This was our first home together, where our kids were born and took their first steps and had their first Christmas' and birthdays.....we have definitely outgrown the place but its still sad as it's served us well.

Oh well, on to bigger and better things!! Will probably be off line for a few days while we're getting the Internet on at the new place, so stay tuned for updates soon :)

Appointments, appointments, everywhere...

Got a call from Simonds to move up our colour and electrical selection appointments to THIS SATURDAY! So I need to make sure I have a fair idea of everything I want before then - dont want to be put on the spot and just choose something quickly on the day, if you know what I mean. Have most things chosen but still need to decide on ensuite and bathroom benches and cupboards...oh and interior paint. ARGH so much to do!! Signing contracts on Friday too so a fun weekend coming up!

Still organising the move for next week out of our current house so I also have to meet with the removalist, real estate agent, carpet installers, and on and on.....

Cant wait for this time in 2wks when the move should be over and the house going on the market!

The land is all ours!!

At 3pm our block of land officially became ours! HOORAY!!

So now we just have to work on signing final house contracts and plans next Friday, picking colours and electrical plan week after, and starting build in November. Have tentative start date of Nov. 27 but they are hoping to start sooner, so fingers crossed!!

Oh and did I mention we are moving in 11days and then putting our current house on the market? As soon as we move out (to one of mum's units, thanks mum!) we are going to recarpet, repaint, and hopefully sell quickly so there's no financial pressure as we build our new home.

Cos I have nothing better to do with my time! Thank goodness I"m on maternity leave - I dont know how people do all this while working full time!! I need to get it all done now before I'm back at school next year or I'll go nuts.
