Nougat bricks & ironstone roof - but which garage door?

OK OK, yes I have changed my mind on the bricks again - but I have DEFINITELY decided on Austral Urban One Nougat bricks, a nice creamy colour with silvery/grey undertones. I love them! Lucy and Maggie and I went looking at some addresses and we all agreed they were the best. We think they look great with the Colorbond Ironstone roof (dark grey with blue undertones) and matching window frames - contrast looks great!

Now I just have to decide on teh garage door - should it match the roof and window frames, or be Jasper which is the type of colour we will render around the front door and main bedroom wall when we get round to rendering....

So new poll, vote for your favourite, or tell me here!!

Here are the annotated plans we will be building with the changes we are making from the originals.

Note we have left a gap on the far right corner (back of house labelled ELEVATION C) to later build a rumpus room when kids are bigger.
Alfresco area will be built on the side labelled ELEVATION D, coming off the Meals/Family area. This will be facing our big backyard.

Date to sign contracts!

Simonds called today to set up date for Phil and I to come in and sign off on final plans and contracts and arrange our colour and electrical appointments. They confirmed we are still on target for a November site start, so fingers crossed it all goes smoothly!!

Building our new home :)

Follow the progress of our new home being built here. Will hopefully update insanely and with every minute detail as we go.

The story so far:

After the arrival of Maggie in June, we realised we just couldn't squish into this house much longer, we had well and truly outgrown our first teeny tiny home! We debated between buying established or building new, and soon discovered it was much more economical to build from scratch than buy an established house in our area.

We finally found a block of land we loved and put a holding deposit down on July 29, pending finance. Finance all approved and full deposit paid by mid-August.

our block of land!!

Since then have just been working on finding the best house for the money we could squeeze out of the bank. We finally settled on the 'Millbank 2300' with Simonds with a few changes (added a wall across DINING area to make it into BEDROOM 4, put doors on STUDY, deleted window in FAMILY W8, and added extra sliding door in FAMILY in lieu of double window).

We have booked a site starting date of November 2009, with house to be completed by April 2010. Hopefully everything goes smoothly and we will be in our new home before next winter!!

Cheers
