Our block has been cut!

What a suprise today to get a call from the slasher to inform us that they couldn't slash the block as an excavator was there digging the block up!!

I went down to check it out and yep, they've cut down and levelled the site off and carted away the excess fill. Digger is still there so look slike there will be more done on Monday. I took the kids to check it out after school and pose with the digger, they were very excited to figure out where their bedrooms would be.

The rest of the backyard still needs to be slashed though as its really high and the council sent us out a notice, so I've got him coming back tomorrow to make it look pretty :)

House plans - updated to final layout

Our site plans and house layout

Whoops I forgot to show you all how the house is going to sit on our block (when we finally start building!!)

We had to flip around the front of the house, the garage and main bedroom, ensuite & WIR, otherwise the driveway was on too much of an angle to get the cars into the garage (since our fence opening is narrower at front then opens out onto the block.) We dont mind really, it just means there is more space down the 'dead' side of the block, along the straight fenceline on the bedroom side of the house. So the space is not wasted we are going to put our garden shed and water tank down that side (once we can afford them!) so they're out of sight and not taking up the rest of the yard.

So here is the house layout, a few tiny alterations need to be made on these drawings (like the double doors between lounge and meals will swing into lounge, not meals) but they have been fixed on final drawings.

My favourite part is the front hallway and my 2 (yes 2) linen cupboards along that wall - I need to buy some more linen to fill them!! hehehe

old house SOLD :)

Photobucket

Well the old house went up for sale on Wednesday, by the afternoon we had our first offer :) A bit too low so we held out til Saturday, had 2 more offers from 2 more couples, and we took the last one as it was close enough and the buyer already has the money ready to go, no need to wait around for finance or anything.

So barring they find anything wrong with the house in their inspection, the house is due to settle on December 15!!

WOOT WOOT!!

PS Here are some pics of the house after Caitlin and her sis cleaned it most awesomely and we chuck in new carpet and new paint throughout, scrubbed up really nice :)
